On April 26, 2022, the UNESCO Chair participated in the preparation and holding of the VI International Research-to-Practice Conference “Russia and the World: Dialogues – 2022”

The conference was organised by the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the National Research Institute for Communication Development, the Centre for Near and Middle East Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Centre for Modern Afghanistan Studies, and the Regional Studies of Russia. We would especially like to note that the very initiative to hold this conference was put forward by the participants of the student discussion club “Aquila Romanus” of the Institute of Finance and Sustainable Development of RANEPA.


The plenary session was chaired by A.M. Margolin, Vice-Rector of RANEPA, Director of IFSD RANEPA, and V.V. Komleva, Ph., head of the Department of Foreign Regional Studies and Regional Governance IPACS RANEPA, deputy Director of the NRICD.

Russian and foreign experts took part in the discussion. Among the key speakers we would like to mention E.K. Abil, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, A.A. Akmataliev, Rector of Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, A.S. Bekmurodov, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Uzbekistan, and A.D. Gafurzoda, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Tajikistan.

One of the sections considered issues of stabilization of economic, humanitarian, political situation in Afghanistan as well as security, prospects of interaction between Russia, Afghanistan, Central Asian countries and China. The moderator was M.O. Nessar, Ph.D., senior researcher at the Centre for Near and Middle East Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, director of the Centre for Modern Afghanistan Studies.

The Head of the Department, V.K. Egorov, addressed the conference on the role and place of culture in the emergence of a new world order.
