November 25, 2022

On November 8, members of the IPACS International Club took part in a masterclass on the topic “Organization of business events”.

The masterclass was hosted by Karolina Sikirinskaya, Head of the IPACS International Cooperation Department.

The event was held in a dialogue format. The students discussed how to formulate the event’s mission correctly and analyzed the main organizational models: team-based, collegial, authoritarian, support, and guardianship models. Each of the participants shared their opinion on which of the models is preferable to them and why. This is a topical issue, since all the students having attended masterclass are part of the Organizational block of the IPACS International Club and in the future, will act as leaders.

Then the students were told about the main problems that may arise when working in a team, how to correctly distribute tasks between employees, as well as about existing roles in the process of working on a project. Together with Karolina Sikirinskaya, the participants discussed various types of business events and the key competencies of the manager and performer.

“A good manager is, first of all, a good technical performer who can not only point out a mistake, but also redo the work if necessary. The understanding of the role model in the team is also vital, which is a key factor in the synergy effect,” said Karolina Sikirinskaya.

The participants of the International Club Organizational block shared their impressions.

Alina Voronchikhina, 1st year student in “Management of International Projects and Programs” of the Faculty of International Regional Studies and Regional Management:

“The masterclass with Karolina Sikirinskaya was very useful! The specifics of the events’ organization and the key points in the distribution of roles in the working group were explained to us. In addition, we discussed various organizational models and reflected on the prospects for the work of the IPACS International Club Organizational block. The masterclass was extremely productive, thanks a lot to Karolina Sikirinskaya for the material, and to the organizers for the opportunity to improve the efficiency of work in a team!”.

Anastasia Vasilenko, 1st year student in “Management of International Projects and Programs” of the Faculty of International Regional Studies and Regional Management:

“For me, as I’m a member of the International Club Organizational block, the masterclass was especially useful and interesting. We discussed the theoretical part of teamwork. For example, we talked about the existing types of collaboration, roles in a team, qualities of an effective manager, way of working on projects correctly, so that they are eventually implemented. We also managed to analyze our work at the events that have already taken place, sorted out the mistakes, so as not to repeat them again. The masterclass inspired us for the development of existing projects and even for the creation of your own!”.
