From December 01 to 05, an educational trip of the International Student Club IPACS InterClub was held as part of the most active students of IPACS and foreign students.

The students visited the cultural capital St. Petersburg, with the team of the Department for International Cooperation IPACS.

The main purpose of the trip was the cultural and historical component of the second largest city in the Russian Federation, which is certainly the cradle of the Russian Empire birth and the entry of modern Russia into the role of a European great power. During the trip, students were able to learn more about the history of the main monuments of the most European city of the vast country – Russia, visit key places of the northern capital, including the Peter and Paul Fortress, the Hermitage, the Kronstadt Fortress, the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, the Transfiguration Cathedral, the Russian Museum, Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood and others. St. Petersburg is also one of the largest scientific and educational centers in Russia, where more than 10% of the country’s scientific potential is concentrated, and is actively functioning a branch of the RANEPA, the North-West Institute of Management RANEPA.

The cultural and educational program was prepared and implemented by the team of the Department for International Cooperation IPACS, who were responsible for organizing and implementing events during the trip. The staff of the department shared their impressions on the results of the trip.

Caroline Sikirinskaya, Head of the International Cooperation Department:

“In my opinion, we have implemented with the team absolutely everything that we had in mind. I’m sure all students will have only positive emotions! Together, we managed to convey to them the important knowledge that teamwork always brings a synergy effect. Students, including foreign ones, on this trip were able to reveal themselves, discover a new cultural and historical side of St. Petersburg. We made a project that we will remember for a long time”.

Anastasia Belyakova, expert for students’ international activity of the International Cooperation Department:

“Students who are members of the IPACS International club actively participated in the organization of this trip. They chose the most interesting locations and routes for them, helped to make plans for each day of our trip. I believe that it was thanks to the joint trip that we managed to unite. And thus motivate our students to work more effectively on joint projects and the organization of other events”.

Aruna Jumasova, expert for international media of the International Cooperation Department:

“This trip is very significant for me. As an employee of the International Cooperation Department, I think it is very important to organize such really large-scale projects. After all, thanks to them, foreign students and our students learn a lot of new things, work together, actively interact with each other, improve language skills and generally have a good time together!”.

During the trip, all students were able to get to know the culture of St. Petersburg and Russia better, practice conversational skills of foreign languages, communicate with children from other countries, learn the cultural peculiarities of each other’s daily life, and make friends. Such trips can really be considered a good platform for obtaining new knowledge not only for foreigners, but also for students of the IPACS RANEPA.
