March 3, 2023

On February 14th, the first meeting of the “Speaking Club’s” participants in the direction “Spanish language” in the new academic year took place. The main topic was “Mental Health”.

Students were divided into pairs and were able to discuss such important issues as mental health, stress resistance, calm preparation for the session, types of psychological assistance during the meeting. The Speaking club was visited by students from France who came to IPACS RANEPA on the academic mobility program. They know Spanish fluently, so this was a unique opportunity and valuable experience for the students of the IPACS RANEPA.

The moderator of the meeting, a specialist of the International Cooperation Department, Sergey Samoilov, prepared a presentation for the students, which collected relevant and useful vocabulary, showed them a useful video related to the topic of the speaking club, and organized a game based on associations.

Sergei Samoilov emphasized: “It is very interesting to organize meetings of a Speaking Club in the direction of the Spanish language. We had not seen with the guys for a long time, so the club was filled with an enthusiastic atmosphere. The students actively discussed the given topic, shared their experience and communicated with foreign students.”

Nika Alekseeva, a 1st year student for the faculty of International and Regional Research in program “Politics and Law (with in-depth study of foreign languages)”, noted: “The first meeting of the Spanish Speaking Club in 2023 was amazing. We were joined for the first time by foreign students – Martin and Valentina. Guys have a higher level of Spanish than the rest of the participants, but this did not prevent us from discussing the topic of our meeting “Mental health”, playing an intellectual game in Spanish and learning a little more about the country of Valentina and Martin.”

Polina Petukhova, 1st year student for the faculty of International and Regional Research in program “Politics and Law (with in-depth study of foreign languages)” emphasized: “Last week we visited a Speaking Club. I really liked that we studied the topic “Mental Health” in a playful way, and the arrival of foreign students was very memorable. After the Speaking Club I left only with positive emotions, there was a motivation to study foreign languages even more in order to communicate freely with people around the world.”
