The Academy held a welcome meeting for foreign students

February 20, 2024

Students from France and Kazakhstan will study at the Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service (IPACS) of the Presidential Academy throughout the spring semester. To introduce them to the Academy and help with adaptation, IPACS held a welcome orientation meeting with a campus tour and a trip to the Russia exhibition.

In total, 9 students from the Catholic Institute of Higher Education (La Roche-sur-Yon, France) and the Turan University (Almaty, Kazakhstan) came to IPACS. At the Faculty of International and Regional Research, they will study in the educational programs “Politics and Law (with in-depth study of foreign languages)” and “Foreign Regional Studies and International Cooperation (with in-depth study of foreign languages).” At the Higher School of Law – under the program “International Legal Profile (with in-depth study of a foreign language and the law of European organizations).”

Studying with students from our partner universities is not just an opportunity to exchange academic knowledge, but also a valuable chance for mutual cultural enrichment and the establishment of long-term friendships. In our experience, international students show incredible interest in studying Russian history, culture, and modern approaches to public administration.

“I thank our partners – foreign educational organizations for many years of cooperation and joint projects. Interaction with foreign educational organizations is one of the most important areas for the Institute of Public Service and Management of the Presidential Academy. In total, about 50 projects were implemented: winter and summer schools, conferences, round tables, teleconferences; more than 60 students were able to receive education abroad under academic mobility and two diploma programs”.

Carolina Sikirinskaya, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the IPACS Presidential Academy

“Each foreign guest will have his own curator from among the Academy students selected at the “Buddy School”. The school is a special project of the International Cooperation Department, aimed at improving interaction between students of the Presidential Academy and foreign students coming as part of academic mobility programs.

I am very glad that I took part in the “Buddy’s School” project and became a mentor for a foreign student. The experience of communicating with children from other countries is very important for me, as I can learn something new about different cultures, as well as introduce them to Russian culture, history and traditions”.
