The first meeting of the participants of the IGSU Talk Club “Club de conversation français”
On October 14, the first language meeting of the French “IPACS InterClub Speaking Club” International cooperations’ department special project («Club de conversation français») took place.
At the first meeting, students got acquainted and communicated in French on the topic: “Mentality and traditions of European countries”. Each participant received a special folder in which it is convenient to store materials for meetings and discussions, as well as a vocabulary on the topic of the meeting.
The French Conversation Club provides participants with the opportunity to practice communication skills in a foreign language. During the meeting, students watched two videos in the original language dedicated to interesting facts about French culture and education in the European Union.

Ekaterina Plotnikova, 2nd year student in “Economics”, Faculty of Public Administration of Economics:
“I’m glad I found out about the speaking club that IPACS organizes. Thanks to the guys, we were able to get acquainted with Noémie and Erwann, foreign students from France. Although there was only one meeting, the prepared topics were very relevant for us as students of RANEPA. I want to note that Noémie and Erwann immediately adjusted to our level of language knowledge and were able to explain unfamiliar words in an accessible and, most importantly, interesting way. We were able to practice both French and English. And I would like to note the dictionaries and notebooks that the organizers have prepared”.
Ekaterina Elchaninova, 2nd year student in “Foreign Regional Studies”, Faculty of International Regional Studies and Regional Management:
“I have never regretted that I decided to join the club! I was especially pleased that I was able to communicate with Noémie and Erwann, who came here to study. We watched a couple of videos and learned a lot of funny and interesting facts about French culture. I will definitely come to the next meeting!”.
Noémi Le Liboux, a 2nd-year Master international student from France (Catholic Institute of Vendee, La Roche), studying for a two-degree program at the IPACS RANEPA:
“I like the conversation club, it was really interesting. We talked about the difference in mentality between Russian and Europeans, about holidays, about how European institutions work and about conversations between foreigners. We really enjoyed the meeting! Thanks to the organizers!”.
