February 14, 2023

IPACS RANEPA students who were trained in a special project of the International Cooperation Department “Buddy School”, conducted a tour for foreign students from the Institut catholique de Vendée (ICES), La Roche-sur-Yon, France, on the campus of the Presidential Academy and the territory of the southwestern district of Moscow.

Buddy is a mentor and friend for foreign students who will help to answer any question, find the needed information, buy everything, visit key places of our city and the country as a whole. Buddies and two foreign students Grimaud Valentine Mathilde Marie, 2nd year student for the faculty of state and municipal administration in program Politics and Law (Russian-French program with in-depth study of foreign languages), and Noutary Martin, 2nd year student for the faculty of state and municipal administration in program Russia-Eurasia: political and economic processes visited the first building and the main building of the Presidential Academy, visited the medical center, went to the fifth building and generally walked around the campus and the courtyard.

Then they went to the shopping mall “Avenue” where Buddy showed foreign students grocery stores, pharmacies, clothing stores, home improvement stores and much more. Students got to know each other closer, learned more about each other. Students of IPACS RANEPA also told Valentine and Martin about student life in Russia, about a testbook, a pass to the Academy, a student card and more. Buddies shared their impressions of dating.

Daria Tyuleneva, 2nd year student for the faculty of international and regional research in program “Management of the International Projects and Programs (with advanced level of foreign languages)”, said:

“We visited the most important places on our campus, got acquainted with the structure of our university and student life here, and also got to know the infrastructure of the district. The guys were very pleased with the walk, and we were happy to help the guys in adaptation and were able to gain invaluable experience in communicating with foreign students”.

Olga Voitkevich, a 2nd year for the faculty of international and regional research in program “Management of the International Projects and Programs (with advanced level of foreign languages)”, emphasized:

“We conducted an introductory tour of the Academy campus so that the foreign collegues could easily navigate during their studies. In addition, they showed the nearby territory, because foreign students live in a dormitor. At first it was difficult to communicate with each other in a foreign language. However, I think we were able to find common ground and feel more comfortable”.

We sure that Buddy and students from France will become not just acquaintances this semester, but real friends who can learn a lot about culture, history, traditions, educational process in our countries.
