Student from Kazakhstan Aida Zhenis talks about studying at IPACS RANEPA under the academic mobility program

Aida came to Moscow from the Kazakh Turan University (Almaty) for the fall semester. At the Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service (IPACS) RANEPA she is learning under the international academic mobility program and studying a number of disciplines at the Faculty of Personnel Management and Public Service, as well as at the Faculty of International and Regional Research.

In Almaty, Aida Zhenis is a 4th year student in the program “International Relations” at the Faculty of Humanities and Law at Turan University. She speaks Russian and Kazakh fluently and is now actively studying English and Spanish. Aida said that she really likes Moscow:

“I am very impressed by this city, large skyscrapers, many parks, green areas, cultural places where you can relax and have a good time”.

She especially noted Russian friendliness and culture:

“When we first arrived at IPACS RANEPA during the summer school, we were greeted with bread and salt. It was very unusual and interesting to get to know the culture of another country”.

In a video interview, Aida Zhenis said that she is interested in international relations and diplomacy. In addition, she noted that she is now actively searching for master’s degree grant programs in Russia. In the video, student also shared about her participation in joint summer and winter schools (IPACS RANEPA and Turan University), how she spends her free time from studying and why she has chosen Russia and the Institute for academic mobility.
