First meeting of participants of the “Speaking Club” IPACS RANEPA
From October 17th to October 20th, the Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service (IPACS) of the Presidential Academy hosted the first meetings of the project of the IPACS RANEPA International Cooperation Department “Speaking Club” in the following language areas: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German.
The clubs were held in several shifts for 1st to 4th year students. The main topic of the meetings was cinema. The presenters prepared special thematic dictionaries with all the necessary vocabulary, videos in the language of specialization and various interactive activities. All participants of the “Speaking Club” were interested and actively participated in the discussion.
Student of the “Speaking Club” shared their impressions of a series of past events.
Alexander Ganusevich, a 3rd year student in the program “Domestic Policy and Leadership”, noted:
“I didn’t know what to expect from the first meeting of the “Speaking club”, since I had never attended such events. However, the environment immediately warmed me up to conversation. The main topic of the meeting was films: everyone talked about the film they watched last time. Then we discussed our favorite actors and current films. The meeting ended with watching a video about the benefits of watching movies. We discussed it and expressed our agreement or disagreement with the author. At the very end we took a group photo. I consider this a good tradition: every time you can look through memorable photographs and remember your so dearly loved meetings.”
