Open lecture of the Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation

On February 27th, at the Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service of the Presidential Academy, an open lecture was held by Alexey Zaitsev, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The lecture was organized by the Faculty of Public Economic Administration of the IPACS Presidential Academy.

The opening speech was made by the acting Director of the IPACS Presidential Academy Ruslan Korchagin. He welcomed the speaker, introduced him to the audience and spoke about the importance of interaction between the Institute and federal executive authorities, because thanks to such lectures that students of the IPACS Presidential Academy can learn about the characteristics and experience of civil servants in various areas of public administration, including international relations.

Alexey Zaitsev told students about the organization of information support for the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. During his speech, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry spoke about the main directions of the Department’s work, its structure, and the features of interaction with the media.

After the lecture, speaker answered questions from students regarding the methods of information analysis used by the Department, the specifics of work in various areas, as well as the skills and qualities required for a civil servant in this professional field.

At the end of the lecture, a tour of the central campus of the Presidential Academy was held, during which Alexey Zaitsev was told about the history of the creation of the Presidential Academy and the main areas of student training.

Elizaveta Badulina, 1st year student in the program “Domestic Policy and Leadership”:

“At the lecture with Alexey Anatolyevich Zaitsev, we were able to get acquainted with the structure of the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and plunge into the range of tasks performed by diplomats of this unit. For us, students of the ISSU Presidential Academy, this is important from the point of view of planning our future career in the public service. It was valuable for me to hear information first-hand, learn something new, and get answers to questions. It was interesting!”.

Nikita Filippov, 2nd year student in the program “Comprehensive Assessment and Development of Regions”:

“I am studying regional studies of Russia, and I have always been interested in the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation: complex, responsible, but very important. There are many nuances that can affect building a dialogue with both foreign partners and opponents. During the meeting, it was interesting to learn that the briefing is an important tool for communicating the official position of our country to external audiences. A colossal amount of work is being done to organize it. Thank you very much!”.
