December 17, 2021

On December 16, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Russia met with the RANEPA rector, as well as the IPACS managment team and students.

Gilles Beschoor Plug speech under the topic “Prospects and examples of Dutch-Russian business cooperation” was extrimely interesting and modern.

IPACS RANEPA and the Embassy team are linked by strong cooperation in a number of international projects in science and education field. The IPACS RANEPA is actively developing the “Dutch direction”: joint programs with partner universities, organization of summer schools, creation of mobility programs and a mutual education exhibition, the organization of general events and Dutch language courses.

The interaction between partners is always successful and positive, also thanks to the professional of the Dutch Embassy team. Institute of Public Administation and Civil Service IPACS RANEPA has been cooperating for a long time with the Dutch Embassy, in particular, two years ago, the IPACS launched a joint Russian-Dutch program “Ecosystem Management (Russian-Dutch program with advanced level of a foreign language)”.

“Education is the basis of our daily activities, it is a lifelong process,” noted the honorary guest of the Academy. – For example, I am now learning Russian. But the most important, perhaps, that learning requires a collective effort: it is very important to have a good teacher, mentor, from whom you can learn something. Today, the search for a mentor or educational institution is not limited to a narrow framework, and one of the most important factors for the success of progressive development is the mobility of students and scientists”.

Gilles Beschoor Plug drew the audience’s attention to one of the most important features of their country: the Netherlands are betting on successful cooperation with other countries, including in the field of science and education, and thanks to this the Kingdom is in the top 5 leading economies in the world. Striving for partnership and exchange of ideas is the key to dynamic development and tomorrow’s success. Among the urgent problems that must be dealt with today and must be dealt with in the future, Mr. Ambassador highlighted the problem of combating climate change in the world and sustainable development.

Ruslan Korchagin, Acting director of IPACS RANEPA, noted that cooperation with foreign partners is one of the key areas of work now:

“It is a great honor for us to welcome within the walls of the Academy our dear guest, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Russian Federation Gilles Beschoor Plug. Russia and the Netherlands are linked by long-standing ties of partnership: Tsar Peter went to Holland to study shipbuilding, and today we continue to actively interact on a number of projects and plan to expand activities in the framework of Russian-Dutch cooperation. Today’s lecture and the subsequent discussion of our further cooperation in the development of international higher education programs between the Academy and universities in the Netherlands is one more step in the development of kind-hearted relations between our countries”.

Karolina Sikirinskaya, Head of the International Cooperation Department, Deputy Director of the Russian-Italian Center, IPACS RANEPA highlighted:

“We have established strong and long-standing relations with the Duch Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, so today’s meeting with the Ambassador turned out to be not only very productive, but also took place in a special, sincere atmosphere. Students listened with enthusiasm to an open lecture by Gilles Beschoor Plug and asked many interesting questions. The meeting became a bright New Year’s Eve event for all of us. One of the memorable moments was of course the dedication of Mr. Ambassador to the ranks of International Student Club members”.

Director for International Development, RANEPA Larisa Taradina:

“Today we continued the Russian-Dutch dialogue at a new level, expanding the horizon for further cooperation between the Academy and the Netherlands. The lecture by Mr. Ambassador of the Netherlands for our students is a vivid example of cross-cultural interaction between countries, which inspires the development of international higher education”.
